The Psychology Practice Accelerator
Step off the treadmill and build a diversified psychology practice
A 6 month programme for psychologists who want to diversify their income and build a practice with room to breathe and grow.
Apply to join our April 2026 cohort
Our work was never meant to be done inside systems that quietly drain the life out of us.
Yet many of us trained inside structures that normalised overwork, isolation, and self-sacrifice, and called it “being a good psychologist.” We brought those patterns into private practice. Our time became a commodity we had to sell. The treadmill took hold.
Our income depends on us being in the room to deliver, our referral pathways are starting to fragment, and all the while, the fresh, creative ideas we’ve been carrying for years, the longings for how we’d love to work, never quite make it into the world.
Additionally now, clients are bringing collective grief, political anxiety, and complexity that the old 1:1 model was never designed to hold. The 1:1 model we inherited was designed for individual problems in stable systems. We’re holding collective complexity in collapsing ones.
"I don't think I would have got to where I did in such a short amount of time without the guidance of TPPA”
— Dr Emma Offord, Clinical Psychologist, Divergent Life
Why Diversifying Your Psychology Practice Is Hard To Do Alone
Trying to diversify your practice in isolation often stalls because the gravitational pull of business-as-usual is strong. When there’s nobody there to hold your practice development work in mind between the times you get to work on it, your best intentions can be thwarted by that relentless pull.
The treadmill often keeps us stuck by design. People often try to do the diversification work in those times when they have a few minutes or an hour, but then the week pulls them back in and they lose the thread again. That cycle can go on for months, even years, and it’s easy to blame ourselves for not making progress.
Having a community around you, peers who can see what you can’t see from the inside, a rhythm that keeps the practice development work alive even when life gets busy. That’s what makes the difference between ideas that stay in notebooks and a practice that actually changes.
THE SAFE BASE, BRAVE PRACTICE™ MODEL
- TPPA is built around a wholistic model for a flourishing psychology practice created from the ground up.
- Healing through your practice, so more Parts of you feel welcome in your practice and can play a creative role.
- Connected in community, because isolation is the structural reason nothing changes.
- Regenerative design of psychology products and services, bridging the gap between insight and offer.
- Diversified offer suite providing what communities actually need along an arc of healing, restoration, transformation and growth.
- Courageous leadership, as you create a liveable future for yourself and the people and communities you care for.
Why The Psychology Practice Accelerator Works
We help you restore the fabric of your practice, not just one thread.
TPPA works to help you restore the fabric of your professional life, integrating a healing space for all the Parts of ourselves, community connection, regenerative product design, practice diversification, and courageous leadership.
We design out imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome comes from the extractive models and spaces that teach us ‘we are never enough’ even once we’re qualified. We help you rebuild Self trust and work with your Inner Leadership Team, compassionately shifting the Parts that block you, and welcoming back the Parts that may have been exiled or required to mask to be acceptable as a professional.
Community is the intervention.
TPPA connects you with practitioners at on a similar journey, plus the collective wisdom of the whole Alumni community. It's like being on the inside of a bottle, trying to read the label that's on the outside. Other practitioners can often see what makes you distinctive and non-displaceable because your inside perspective is limited.
“TPPA provided structure and external safety, like a whole community behind you, so you can take those leaps.”
— Dr Becky Quicke, Clinical Psychologist, Autistic Women and Girls.
What Becomes Possible After The Psychology Practice Accelerator
Our TPPA Alumni have built distinctive practices with diversified income across the full range from groups, training, supervision, workshops, online products, team offers, executive coaching and consulting. Scaling up local companies to national. Coaching schools built on their own proprietary models. Groundbreaking leadership development programmes for corporates. Neurodiversity practices. Trademarked intellectual property as business assets. Podcasts and thriving membership communities. Practices where the work is energising rather than draining, where the practitioner is resourced enough to stay present with what the world is bringing.
“You’ve got one life... why spend time doing stuff that doesn’t make your heart sing?”
— Dr Hannah Bryan, Clinical Psychologist, The EMDR Supervisor & The EMDR-Informed Coaching School
“TPPA gave me the confidence to go for it. Four years later we have created exactly what we hoped for.”
— Dr Romy Sherlock, Clinical Psychologist, Retraining Pain
“I took ideas and motivation and shaped it into something that became a business that I now feel quite proud of.”
— Dr Amber Johnston, Neuropsychologist, Healthy Mind Psychology
About Wendy Kendall
"With seven years as a military psychologist, then a global talent development practice across three countries, and associate partnership in a seven-figure consultancy, I built the kind of psychological career I thought I was supposed to want. I still ended up exhausted and disillusioned.
The realisation that it was the work design that burned me out, not my capability, changed how I saw my practice. I started redesigning my work as a living system rather than another treadmill, and I’ve spent the last eight years helping hundreds of psychologists and psychology professionals do the same through TPPA, coaching, and community.
I'm one of the few UK occupational and coaching psychologists trained to Level 3 with the IFS Institute, which is why the Inner Leadership Team work inside TPPA is so in depth. I now live in rural France where I’m rewilding 10 acres and running in the mountains whenever I can. Everything I share, I've lived through too!"
“Wendy held the vision and encouragement for me until I was ready to embrace it myself.”
— Dr Miriam Inder, Clinical Psychologist, Better Beginnings

Who is TPPA for?
This is for you if...
✅ You’re a psychologist or psychology professional and the time-for-money model is draining the life out of your work.
✅ You’ve got ideas for groups, training, workshops, or a completely different way of working that you’ve never had the space or structure to bring to life.
✅ You want to bring more of yourself into your practice, not just the professionally edited version.
✅ You’re isolated, holding everything alone, and hungry for peers who actually understand what you’re navigating.
✅ You want to work at a systems level, not just with individuals, and you can’t see how to get there from a 1:1 caseload.
✅ You’re ready for permission to prioritise yourself and design a practice that fills your cup first.
✅ You’re hungry to connect, collaborate, and build alongside other practitioners.
✅ You’re still employed or in the NHS and wondering whether this is even for you. It is.
✅ You can feel a bigger version of your practice waiting, one with diversified income, real stability, and room to breathe, and you’re ready to stop outgrowing models that were never designed for you.
This is probably not for you if...
❌ You’re looking for a practice-in-a-box, cookie-cutter templates, and someone else’s model with your name on it. TPPA is about discovering your own approach, not following a formula. If you want to be told exactly what to do step by step without doing your own thinking, this isn’t the right fit.
❌ You’re not willing to be part of a community. The peer element isn’t optional decoration, it’s core to how the programme works. Other practitioners will reflect your Distinctive Edge back to you, challenge your thinking, and become collaborators and referral partners for years. If you’d rather work entirely alone, TPPA won’t give you what you need.
❌ You’re looking for a quick fix to a revenue problem. TPPA is a six-month practice development programme that redesigns the fabric of your professional life. Pivots can happen quickly, but scaling income takes time. If you need a cash injection next month, this isn’t the answer.
